Pope John Paul II was also awarded two doctorates, one in theology and one in philosophy. He spoke at least ten languages.

 Pope John Paul II’s first doctoral thesis focused on faith in the writings of St. John of the Cross.  His second doctoral thesis was an “evaluation of the possibility of founding a Catholic ethic on the ethical system of Max Scheler.”
